Tools: pick one from the top row. Brush paints with your current colour, Eraser clears back to transparent, Fill flood-fills a connected area (set Tol for how close colours must match), Pick (eyedropper) grabs the colour under the cursor. Line, Rect and Ellipse drag out shapes — toggle Outline/Filled for hollow or solid, and hold Shift to constrain to 45° lines, squares or circles.

Brush: pick a brush from the list at the top of the panel — Soft/Hard round, textured Pencil, Charcoal, Chalk and Pastel that catch on a paper grain, a Flat brush and Calligraphy nib with an angled tip for thick-and-thin strokes, a Marker and Highlighter that multiply onto the paint below, wet Watercolour, Oil and Gouache that pick up and mix the colour already on the canvas, a scattered Spray, Stipple and Sponge, a Blender, an Airbrush (soft spray while you hold) or Smudge (pushes existing paint around). Selecting one loads its defaults into the sliders, which you can then tweak. The Size, Hardness, Opacity and Flow sliders shape the nib. Hardness sets how soft the edge falls off; opacity caps how strong a whole stroke can get; flow is how fast paint builds up as you overlap within one stroke. Mirror cycles off → horizontal → vertical → 4-way symmetry, and Pressure maps a stylus's pressure to size and flow when your device reports it.

Colour: pick any colour on the square + hue slider, type a hex, or set exact R/G/B. Palette presets load a ready-made set; click a swatch to use it. + Add to palette stores the current colour and Recent keeps your last ones.

Layers: drawing always lands on the active layer (click a row to select it). The ●/○ dot hides/shows a layer, the slider sets its opacity, the blend mode menu changes how it mixes with the layers below, and + Layer / ⧉ / ✕ / ↑ / ↓ add, duplicate, delete or reorder. Layers composite top-over-bottom on the canvas and in every export.

Canvas, zoom & view: set a size and hit New for a fresh canvas. Zoom − / Fit / + (or Ctrl+scroll over the canvas) magnifies; drag with space held or the middle button to pan. ↶ ↷ are undo/redo, Clear empties the active layer, and Flip H/V mirror it.

Export & save: PNG exports the full composite; Save writes a .json project (all layers) that Load reads back later; Import img drops a photo/PNG onto a new layer. Your work also autosaves to the browser and offers to restore it next time.
